Tombleson Associates is a multi-disciplinary Practice with a focus on property and construction. Managing Director, Paul Tombleson, heads a team of professional associates, all with different (but overlapping) specialisms. Together, we seek to provide a professional service of high merit: in this way some clients specifically retain our services, while others, return only as and when necessary or when the need arises.

Paul D Tombleson – MSc.(Hist.Bld.Cons) ACABE, AssocRICS.

paul_bio4

Paul Tombleson is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and also has a Masters Degree in the field of Historic Building Conservation.

After many years in the building industry Paul moved into the professional surveyor role. In particular specialising in all forms of development and construction from historic buildings up to present day properties, along with investigating defects within buildings.

Paul has been involved in the construction and property sector since 1988, in which he has personally been involved in hands on construction of many properties, renovations, extensions, alterations and developments. His knowledge and understanding of construction specification provides a greater insight into the understanding of building pathology, specifically being able to diagnose many constructional defects. Paul is also regularly engaged by clients to oversee building projects which range from small alterations and renovations, loft conversions, extensions to major developments and new build properties.

Tom J Flower – BSc (Hons), AssocRICS

After university, Tom gained extensive experience in the construction industry. This included structural repairs and improvements of Heritage properties such as Osborne House and Yarmouth Castle. Having provided Condition Reports and Energy Performance Certificates since 2007, Tom joined Tombleson Associates in 2012.

Tom has further developed his experience by gaining professional membership of the RICS and regularly surveys many forms of property from modern developments through to historic buildings across the southern Counties of England and Isle of Wight. Competent in all levels of pre-purchase Surveying, his knowledge and understanding of modern surveying techniques is reflected in the advice provided.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys trail running, coastal rowing and making a mess with his children!

Professional Fees, Some General Guidance

about_teame

The fees in respect of our work are sometimes based upon standard scales at very competitive rates, when the type and scope of work is not only routine, but can be confidently assessed in advance. Where it is not possible to assess in advance the amount of work which may be involved (for example for negotiation or research assignments, construction advice, ongoing maintenance, etc), fees are based upon an hourly rate agreed with clients in advance. Clients can impose time and cost limits to establish a point at which further instructions must be verified before proceeding.

In every case, fee arrangements are agreed in advance, together with each clients’ special instructions. Please do not hesitate to contact us on the question of fees: the question of cost is a topic which all potential clients will want to consider at the outset. We aim to give excellent value in every case.
